ST. LEO, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team fell on the road against Saint Leo on Friday evening, 20-10. The Chargers start the season at 0-1, while the Lions improve to 1-1.

Five different Chargers recorded points on the night including
Cara Brown who had a team-best four goals, while
Hailey Gallant,
Katie Gerber, and
Katie Williams each netted a pair for UAH.
Ryleigh Casserly tallied an assist to register her first point of the season.

Cameron Crews and Brown each picked up a team-high three ground balls, and Brown and
Shaina Doser both caused two turnovers on the night.

Doser made 13 saves in goal for UAH.

Saint Leo would open the game's scoring, getting on the board after 1:28 of the opening quarter and UAH would answer just over three minutes later with Brown's first tally of the season. The Lions would take the lead back at 2-1 before the Chargers would rattle off three unanswered goals with Brown scoring her second of the night, followed by Gallant and Gerber registering their first scores of the year. The hosts would outscore the Blue & White by a 5-to-1 margin in the third to claim a 7-5 advantage at the halftime break.

UAH would tally the first goal in the third frame to cut the deficit to one, but Saint Leo would go on to score six unanswered which proved to be a major turning point in the contest. The Lions would lead 16-9 at the end of the third quarter before claiming the 20-10 victory.

The Chargers will be back in action on Sunday as the team continues their road trip, traveling to Tampa, Fla. to take on the University of Tampa. Sunday's contest is set for a 11 a.m. CT start.
