HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team soared to a 12-8 victory on Friday evening over visiting Lewis. UAH improves to 3-3 while the Flyers slip to 2-3.

The Charger offense was led by this season's top UAH goal scorer,
Cara Brown, who put together a season-high six-goal performance on the night.
Katie Gerber scored a pair while
Katie Williams,
Ryleigh Casserly,
Isadora Springer, and
Hailey Gallant were all on the scoresheet to round out the goal scorers on the evening for the Chargers.

Gallant paced the Blue & White in the assist column with a trio of helpers in the contest.

Gerber and
Sara Pagotto each picked up a roster-best four ground balls for UAH.

Springer opened the scoring for the Chargers just under three minutes into the opening frame, and the two sides would exchange tallies to go into the first intermission level at 3-3. Although the Flyers would take their first lead of the night at 4-3 in the beginning stages of the second quarter, the Chargers would add one from a free position goal by Brown to square things back up and go into the halftime break tied at 4-4.

The Charger offense would tally three straight scores to regain the advantage in the third stanza and they would not surrender the lead for the remainder of the night on their way to securing the 12-8 victory.

The Chargers edged the Flyers in the ground ball department by a 26-25 margin and outshot Lewis 29-16 in the contest.

UAH will now turn its focus to Sunday when they travel to Winter Park, Fla. to take on Sunshine State Conference foe and nationally ranked No. 8 Rollins.

Sunday's matchup with the Tars is set for 12 p.m. CT.
