HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville Department of Athletics is honored to join with Qualis Corporation in presenting Military Appreciation Day at Charger Park this Saturday.
 
Softball and baseball both have doubleheaders that begin at 1 p.m. that day, and men's lacrosse is slated for a 2 p.m. contest.
 
As part of the celebration, the Chargers will be honoring men's lacrosse player David Spuhl who is currently on deployment, and all fans coming to Charger Park that day are encouraged to bring items that will be sent to Spuhl and his battalion. The items can range from bags of candy to power bars to journals to pens.
 
Each person making a donation will receive a gift courtesy of Qualis, and donations will be accepted at a vehicle provided by Bankston Motor Homes.
 
In addition to the donation drive, there will also be other special features on Saturday including an Oath of Enlistment ceremony, ceremonial first pitches, and live renditions of the national anthem.
 
Admission on Saturday – and to all regular season events at Charger Park – is free courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.
