UAH Rolls to 18-8 Victory Over Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday Afternoon

HICKORY, N.C. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team rolled to an 18-8 road victory on Tuesday afternoon over Lenoir-Rhyne. UAH improves to 2-3 while the Bears fall to 2-4.

The Charger offense was potent on the afternoon, with Cara Brown and Isadora Springer each tallying a season-high five goals to pace UAH. Katie Williams and Hailey Gallant each scored three and Katie Gerber scored a pair of her own to round out the goal scorers for the Blue & White.

UAH now features four double-digit scorers on the season in Brown (16), Springer (14), Gallant (12), and Gerber (10).

Ryleigh Casserly led the Chargers in the assist column, dishing out three helpers in the matchup.

Providing more than just offense, Williams picked up a roster-best five ground balls and forced four turnovers to go along with her three goals while Gerber grabbed 10 draw controls on the afternoon.

The visitors would open the scoring less than one minute into the contest after Springer tallied her first of the game, and although the Bears would tie the game at 2-2, UAH would lead after the first quarter by a score of 6-3. Goals from Gerber, Williams, and Springer in the second stanza put the Chargers in front 9-5 going into the halftime break.

The Charger offense would continue to prove to be too much for the Bears in the second half as the visitors ripped off 18 second half shots and UAH outscored Lenoir-Rhyne 6-to-1 in the final frame on its way to securing the 18-8 victory out east.

The Chargers edged the Bears in the ground ball department by a 25-15 margin and outshot Lenoir-Rhyne 39-19 in the contest.

UAH will now look ahead to Friday night when they return to Charger Park to play host to Lewis.

Friday night's matchup with the Flyers is set for 6 p.m.
