Chargers Keep Perfect Conference Record Intact With 21-12 Win at Flagler

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team paid a visit to Flagler on Saturday afternoon, picking up a 21-12 victory to remain undefeated in conference play. The Chargers improve to 8-6 (5-0 Gulf South Conference) on the season, while Flagler drops to 9-7 (3-2 GSC).
 
Cara Brown picked up right where she left off, setting a new season-high for herself with an eight-goal performance against the Saints after scoring her previous season-high seven goals in last week's victory over Lee. Sarah Farley also set a personal season-high with five goals on the afternoon. 
 
Katie Williams, Abby Sprado, Katie Gerber, and Isadora Springer also recorded goals in the affair and Gerber had a team-high three assists for the Chargers.
 
Shaina Doser played the entire contest in goal for UAH recording her eighth win on the year.
 
The visitors would open the game's scoring with a tally from Gerber at the 13:46 mark, and Farley would construct an opening frame hat-trick to have the Chargers in front 4-3 after one. UAH would net another four goals from four different scorers in the second quarter to give the visitors a three-goal advantage going into the halftime break at 8-5.
 
Six goals from the Chargers in the third quarter, including three from UAH's leading goal scorer this season, Brown, extended the Blue & White's lead to six at the end of the third. The Chargers kept their foot on the gas for the remainder of the contest, recording a seven-goal frame in the final stanza to take home the 21-12 victory.
 
The visitors outshot the hosts 42-19 throughout the contest and took advantage of 25 Flagler turnovers.
 
UAH will now turn the focus to next Saturday when the team travels to the Peach State to take on Young Harris in the regular season finale.
 
Saturday's game in is set for a 2 p.m. CT start.
