YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team picked up a 19-7 victory on Saturday to finish the regular season undefeated in conference play. The Chargers improve to 9-6 (6-0 Gulf South Conference) on the season, while Young Harris drops to 7-10 (2-4 GSC).

Cara Brown tallied a season-high nine points, scoring eight goals for the second consecutive week and added an assist against the Mountain Lions to lead all players with nine points.
Sarah Farley also set a season-high for herself with a five-goal performance against the Peach State opponents.

Katie Gerber and
Isadora Springer each recorded a pair of goals in the contest and
Hailey Gallant recorded four points with a goal and trio of assists for the Chargers.

Shaina Doser recorded four saves while
Morghan Kilduff and
Tori Ryan each registered three saves in 15 minutes of work.

Young Harris would open the scoring in the game, but the Chargers would respond with a strong offensive performance to take a 5-4 advantage into the first intermission. The difference in the contest would come in the second frame where UAH would hold the Mountain Lions to just one goal while scoring 10 of their own to hold a 15-5 lead at the halftime break.

Each side scored just one goal in the third period, and the Chargers added three more in the final frame on their way to securing the 19-7 result.

The visitors outshot the hosts 40-23 throughout the contest and won the battle in the ground ball department by a 28-14 margin.

UAH will now turn the focus to next Friday when the team hosts the GSC women's lacrosse tournament at Charger Park.

Friday's semifinal game is set for a 4 p.m. start.
