HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team welcomed Shorter to Charger Park on Thursday evening, securing a 15-4 victory over the Hawks. The Chargers improve to 6-6 (3-0 Gulf South Conference) on the season, while Shorter falls to 2-10 (0-3 GSC).

Katie Williams and
Sarah Farley paced the UAH offense with three goals each and Williams also added an assist for a four-point performance.
Cara Brown turned in a good all-around performance with a four-point night on a pair of goals and a pair of assists, and she also led the Chargers with three ground balls.

The Chargers came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, exploding for an 11-goal opening quarter which was started by a Williams tally at the 12:01 mark. She and Farley would both put together first quarter hattricks for the Chargers, en route to the 11-goal opening frame. The Hawks would get on the board with two goals to start the second and UAH would answer with another tally to keep the 10-goal advantage going into the halftime break at 12-2.

After just one goal from each side in the third quarter, the Chargers added two more scores in the final frame to secure the 15-4 victory.

The hosts outshot the visitors 31-14 and held a 25-21 advantage in the ground ball department.

UAH will now look ahead to its final home game of the regular season on Saturday when the team takes on Lee for a top of the conference battle. Saturday's game will also be Senior Day as UAH will honor
Sarah Farley,
Darby Smith,
Cara Brown, and
Hailey Gallant. The Chargers are 7-1 in the all-time series with Lee, and UAH has won each of the three matchups that have been played in the Rocket City.
