HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team hosted Lee on Senior Day at Charger Park on Saturday afternoon, securing a very important 24-13 victory over the Flames. The Chargers improve to 7-6 (4-0 Gulf South Conference) on the season, while Lee drops to 7-7 (4-1 GSC).

Katie Gerber had a career day as she set a new career-high for herself with seven goals and she also added two assists to match her previous career-high of nine points. In addition, her nine ground balls and nine draw controls led all players on the day.
Cara Brown joined Gerber on the scoring frenzy with seven goals of her own and she now has 46 on the year.

Hailey Gallant recorded a hat trick and added two assists for five points and
Ryleigh Casserly also registered five points with a goal and a team-best four assists.

Shaina Doser played the entire contest in goal for UAH recording five saves in the affair.

The Chargers would strike first with a
Sarah Farley tally at the 12:17 mark of the opening quarter and outscored the Flames 8-3 throughout the frame to hold the advantage at the first intermission. UAH would not surrender the lead after a fairly even second quarter created a 12-8 halftime score line in favor of the Blue & White.

The Chargers would hold the visitors to just one goal in the third quarter, while scoring six of their own, and would replicate their offensive performance in the final frame with another six tallies en route to securing the 24-13 victory over the Flames to move to the top of the conference.

The hosts outshot the visitors 47-23 on the day and held a huge advantage in ground balls, picking up 31 compared to Lee's 16.

UAH will now turn its attention to next Saturday when the team travels to St. Augustine, Fla. to take on Flagler as they look to keep their perfect conference record in tact.
