HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team wrapped up its two-match homestand with a 1-1 draw against Spring Hill on Sunday afternoon at Charger Park. UAH moves to 1-2-2 (0-1-1 GSC), while SHC now has an overall record of 0-4-1 (0-1-1 GSC).

Spring Hill took the first lead of the match in the waning moments of the opening half with a 43rd-minute goal by Ashley Drennon, and the Badgers would take the 1-0 advantage into the half.

UAH rebounded quickly into the second half as
Helena Gonzalez drove towards the net and fired in her first goal of the season in the 53rd minute to tie the match at 1-1. Both sides would go scoreless to wrap up the match as a 1-1 draw.

Hailey Hicks played the full time in goal for the Chargers, turning in two saves as her record moves to 1-0-1 in 2022.

UAH's offense generated a total of 10 shots on goal led by Gonzalez and
Caroline Buchanan with three each.
Jayla Gillespie rated second on the team with two shots on goal.

The Chargers additionally accrued seven corner kicks, while holding SHC to four.

The Chargers are back in action on Wednesday with a trip to Tusculum for a nonconference tilt beginning at 4 p.m.
