UAH Returns to Charger Park for Weekend Matches against Union and CBU

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team returns to Charger Park with two matches this weekend with Union visiting Friday at 7:30 p.m., followed by a matchup with Christian Brothers on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
 
Admission for this weekend's matches – and to all regular season events at Charger Park – is free courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

UAH enters the weekend with a 0-7-2 overall record and a 0-4-1 mark in GSC play, after the squad picked up its first conference point of 2022 with a 1-1 tie at Delta State on Sunday.
 
The Chargers offense is led by Aaron Chavez and Sander Van Der Sluijs with two goals apiece, followed by Charlie Garrison, Shalev Keter and Xavier Martin with one goal each.
 
Jose Bannwart has spent the most time in action this season with a team-high 803 minutes played, as both Colby Nesbit (698 minutes) and Harvey Hewson (663 minutes) have also eclipsed 600 minutes played this season for the Chargers.
 
Head coach John Carrier has split time in goal this season between Robert Bailey and Giancarlo Martinez for the majority of the season, as the duo has combined for a 2.33 goals against average and .543 save percentage in 2022.
 
Union enters the Friday night matchup with a 3-6-1 overall record and a 1-4-1 record in the GSC schedule, following a 0-0 tie at home against Spring Hill. The Bulldogs offense is guided by Ostian Bowen's 14 points on six goals and two assists, while Botond Nemeth has played the most time in goal with a 2.17 goals against average and a .726 save percentage.
 
Christian Brothers begins the weekend with a 5-2-3 overall record and a 2-2-2 mark in GSC play in the 2022 campaign, after tying 1-1 with West Florida on Sunday at home. The Buccaneers offense is led by Lucho Galizzi with six goals and one assist, while Max Klink has played the majority of time in goal with a .69 goals against average and .829 save percentage.
 
UAH holds all-time series records of 7-6-0 against Union and 17-17-6 against Christian Brothers.
 
After this weekend's matches, UAH looks ahead to a pair of in-state matchups at Montevallo on Friday and Auburn Montgomery on Saturday.
