Three Second Half Goals Lead Chargers to 3-1 Victory over Union

Box Score HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team picked up a 3-1 win over Union at Charger Park on Friday night in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 1-7-2 (1-4-1 GSC), while UU slips to 3-7-1 (1-5-1 GSC).
 
After going behind 1-0 in the first half with a 15th-minute goal by the Bulldogs, UAH turned the tables in the second half with three goals by three different players to lead the Chargers to their first victory of the season.
 
The game was tied in the 55th minute as Shalev Keter converted a penalty kick for his second goal of the season. UAH has scored on four of its five penalty kick opportunities in 2022 with both of Keter's goals coming on penalty chances.
 
Freshman Harvey Hewson put the Chargers ahead in the 64th minute with his first career tally, and Sander Van Der Sluijs would bring the game to its 3-1 final score with his third goal of the season in the 75th minute.
 
Kieran Rowe notched an assist on the Van Der Sluijs goal, which is his second helper of 2022.
 
Robert Bailey played the full time in goal for the Chargers, turning in three saves in the 3-1 victory.
 
UAH had a total of 10 shots on goal, led by Colby Nesbit and Michael Weston with two each.
 
The Chargers are back in action on Sunday against Christian Brothers at 3:30 p.m. at Charger Park.
