The UAH men's soccer program will celebrate its 2023 Senior Class prior to Friday's contest, which will feature departing seniors

The Chargers enter the Friday contest with a 5-3-5 overall record and a 3-1-4 record in GSC play, after most recently falling to Mississippi College this past Sunday at Charger Park.

UAH currently sits in a tie for fifth with Lee in the GSC with 13 conference points, with AUM, West Alabama, Mississippi College and West Florida preceding in the top four.

The top eight spots in the conference standings will earn berths to the 2023 GSC Men's Soccer Championships, which will begin with first round matchups hosted by the top four seeds on Sunday, Nov. 5.

Rafa Vega remains atop the Chargers offense with a team-high nine points this season from four goals and one assist, as he rates tied for second in the GSC with three game-winning goals in 2023. He is one of five Chargers with multi-goal campaigns, joined by
Justin Alcantara,
Marcus Astreos,
Jose Bannwart and
Kieran Rowe all with two goals apiece.

Ethan Haworth has been one of the top goalkeepers in the GSC this season, as he's second in the conference with five shutouts in 2023. Overall, he has recorded a 1.30 goals against average with 29 total saves.

West Alabama comes into the Rocket City matchup with a 7-2-4 overall record and a 5-1-3 mark in GSC play, which gives the Tigers 18 conference points for second overall in the standings. The Tigers offense is guided by Baronyi Kengeye with 10 goals and one assist, while Lasse Schwieren has played the majority of time in goal with a 0.80 goals against average and 28 saves.

UAH holds an all-time series record of 5-10-3 against West Alabama, with UAH winning the most recent matchup last season on Oct. 15 by a score of 2-1.

After this Friday's contest, the Chargers finish off the regular season next weekend with trips to Spring Hill and West Florida.
