HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team hosts a Gulf South Conference opponent as they host West Alabama in a 2 p.m. match on Saturday at Kelly Court in Spragins Hall.
The Chargers are currently in sole possession of second place in the GSC with a 13-8 (9-2 GSC) record and an undefeated record at home. UAH has dropped just one set in conference play at home this season in a 3-1 victory over Valdosta State.
The Tigers visit with a 4-21 (1-10 GSC) record and have dropped six straight matches.
UAH leads the GSC in blocks per set this season, averaging 2.24 per set and has two players in the top five of the category.
Mary Grace Bundrant leads the league in blocks per set with 1.13 per set, while
Kiara Hill is fifth in the category at 0.92 blocks per set.
Savannah Rutledge leads the GSC with 9.13 assists per set this year, with the next highest total being 7.43.
West Alabama arrives in Huntsville after a hard-fought five set loss against Montevallo on Wednesday. Berfin Mertcan ranks seventh in the conference in assists this season with a 5.64 assists per set average.
Offensively, the Tigers are led by Chyna Dixon's team leading 2.13 kills per set average and a 2.11 kills per set average from Ally Craig.
Following Saturday's match, UAH will host Lee on Tuesday night. UAH is celebrating Halloween as part of Tuesday's contest with a prize for the top costume, presented by Bentley Automotive.
