UAH Caps Regular Season with 2-2 Tie at West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. | The UAH men's soccer team wrapped up the 2023 regular season with a 2-2 tie at West Florida on Sunday afternoon in Gulf South Conference action. UAH moves to 6-4-6 (4-2-5 GSC), while UWF's record goes to 8-1-5 (5-1-5 GSC).

The Chargers look ahead to the 2023 Gulf South Conference Men's Soccer Championships as the No. 6 seed with a quarterfinal matchup at No. 3 seed West Florida on Sunday, Nov. 5.

UAH had an early lead in Sunday's regular season finale with back-to-back goals by Donovan Pruitte in the 14th minute and Huntsville native Henry Mpagi Jr. in the 32nd.

Pruitt's goal was the first in his career, while Mpagi Jr. notches his second career marker.

However, West Florida rebounded to strike twice quickly after Mpagi Jr.'s goal with tallies in the 33rd and 34th minute. Both sides went scoreless in the second half to bring the contest to its 2-2 final score.

Ethan Haworth played the full time in goal for the Chargers with two saves over the 90-minute effort, as he also navigated four corner kicks by the Argonauts.

UAH's six ties in the 2023 campaign are the most in program history, with John Carrier now tied for first in Charger coaching history with 20 career ties.
