Men's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw at CBU

MEMPHIS, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Christian Brothers on Friday night in Gulf South Conference play. UAH moves to 4-2-4 (2-0-3 GSC), while CBU now stands at 4-1-4 (1-1-2 GSC).
 
The game would remain scoreless until the 64th minute when the Bucs would go in front via a goal from Manny Morales that found its way into the net after taking a deflection from his shot at the top of the box.
 
The Chargers would answer when Marcus Astreos bundled home a scramble in the box from a long throw-in in the 74th minute of the game and leveled the affair at 1-1.
 
The tally marks Astreos' second goal of the 2023 season.
 
The final 16 minutes would remain scoreless to see both teams share the points in a 1-1 tie.
 
UAH fired off 11 shots compared to the hosts' 10 while the Chargers created six corner kick opportunities compared to CBU's five
 
Ethan Haworth featured in goal for the Blue & White, playing all 90 minutes and registering three stops on the night.
 
The Chargers will continue the Tennessee road trip as they square off next with Union on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in Jackson.
