HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team dropped its season opener to visiting Florida Southern 55-49 at Spragins Hall in the first game of the GSC-SSC Crossover presented by the Huntsville Sports Commission. UAH starts the season at 0-1 while the Mocs begin 2023 action at 1-0.

Haelim Adle put up a career-high 14 points, going 7-for-13 from the field to lead the way for the Charger offense. Adle added three rebounds and three steals throughout the contest for good measure.

Bella White had a productive start to her collegiate career, scoring seven points, collecting four rebounds, and recording a team-high five takeaways.
Ikia Elam was tops on the glass for the hosts with ten rebounds in the contest.

Florida Southern got off to a hot start in the initial quarter, jumping out to a 12-0 lead after three minutes of action and FSC would see themselves in favor of a 28-17 score at the halftime break.

UAH outscored the visitors 32-27 in the second half, cutting the Mocs advantage to as little as two points with 1:44 left to play, but the Blue & White would ultimately fall in a 55-49 decision.

This was the ninth-ever meeting between UAH and Florida Southern.

The Chargers are back in action tomorrow at 3 p.m. to take on No. 3 Tampa to wrap up the weekend.
