Emily McMurry is set to run at the 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning as the first Chargers women's runner to compete at Nationals since 2021.

McMurry garnered an individual berth to Nationals at the NCAA South Regional in Montevallo, Alabama, on Nov. 4 with an eighth-place finish at a program-record time of 21:00.35. She earned the berth as one of the top three highest-placing runners at the regional not on a Nationals-qualifying team.

A native of Monroe, Ohio, McMurry has earned All-South Region now three times in her career after her spectacular performance in the regional 6k race.

Nationals will be held on Saturday at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Missouri. Missouri Southern State University serves as the host, with the women's race beginning at 10 a.m. CT, followed by the men's race at 11:15 a.m. CT.
