Volleyball Falls in GSC Championship Final to No. 17 West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. | The UAH volleyball team fell to No. 17 West Florida in an electric atmosphere in the 2023 Gulf South Conference Volleyball Championship match on Sunday afternoon by a score of 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 35-33).

UAH's battle came through to the end with West Florida taking the third 35-33, with each set score coming within four points on Sunday.

The Blue & White garnered a pair of GSC All-Tournament honorees including Tatiana Bonilla and Kiara Hill. 

The Chargers end the season at 18-10 while West Florida improved to 25-7.

Kiara Hill led the way for the Chargers offensively, posting 10 kills with a .286 hitting percentage and one block on the defensive end. Caroline Moyer and Zoe Smith recorded nine kills apiece, with Moyer tallying three blocks. 

Savannah Rutledge contributed 34 assists, seven digs, a block assist and two kills in the match. Mary Grace Bundrant had three rejections on the defensive end to go along with three kills.

This was UAH's first appearance in the GSC Championship game since 1997.
