HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team hosts the final two games of the 2022-23 regular season this week at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall with visits from West Florida Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Valdosta State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
UAH will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sport Day for Thursday's contest, which will feature a halftime ceremony honoring some of Huntsville's inspiring women leaders in sport.

The Chargers conference postseason hopes remain alive with two games remaining in the regular season, as UAH sits just outside of the top eight in the standings. West Alabama (10-12 GSC), West Georgia (9-13 GSC), Christian Brothers (8-14 GSC) and UAH (8-14 GSC) are all vying for the final two berths to the GSC tournament which begins next Tuesday.

UAH enters the week with an 8-18 overall record that includes an 8-14 mark in GSC games this season, following an 80-78 victory at Christian Brothers on Saturday.
Jesse Jennings led the Chargers in the win with a team-high 20 points.

Haley Nichols has been the Chargers most consistent player in the 2022-23 campaign and amongst the best in the GSC, as she ranks in the top 15 in the league in scoring (13th, 12.4 PPG) and rebounding (5th, 8.1 RPG). She has a total of eight double-doubles with points and rebounds as well this season.

Andrea Lemmond's young squad has come on strong down the stretch with a 5-3 GSC record since Jan. 21st, while relying on an infusion of youth that includes five freshmen playing 10 minutes or more a night on average.
Andie Flatgard leads all UAH freshmen with 35.5 minutes per game, 8.6 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game.

West Florida enters Thursday's contest with a 19-6 overall record and an 18-4 conference record, following a 70-63 home win over Montevallo on Saturday. The Argos offense averages 68.5 points per game led by Jaclyn Jarnot (13.1 PPG), while UWF's defense limits its opposition to 59.5 points per game.

Valdosta State starts out the week's schedule with a 19-5 overall record that includes an 18-4 mark in GSC games, after most recently topping Auburn Montgomery 75-62 at home on Saturday. The Blazers offense generates 64.6 points per game led by Taylor Searcy (12.4 PPG), while VSU's defense holds the opposition to 55.3 points per game.
