HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team dropped its 2023 season-opener on Friday afternoon by a final score of 14-4 to No. 14 Florida Southern at Charger Park in nonconference action. UAH slips to 0-1, while FSC improves to 1-0.

Brody Phillips led the Chargers offense as he assisted on three of the team's four goals on the afternoon in addition to picking up one ground ball.

Trevor Redmond each scored one goal apiece to round out the Chargers offense.

Hunter Coleman notched a team-best five ground balls while going 9-for-18 on face-offs.

The UAH defense generated 14 caused turnovers against Florida Southern, led by
Collin Galinski with four.
Alex Dorenkott rated second on the squad with three caused turnovers.

Dylan Needs played the full time in goal for the Chargers, notching 14 saves in the loss. His season record slides to 0-1.
