ST. LEO, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team picked up the nonconference series win at Saint Leo on Saturday with a 14-11 victory on Saturday afternoon. UAH improves to 2-1, while SLU slides to 1-2.

Sophomore
Jackson Lindsey led the Chargers in the slugfest, going 2-for-5 with two home runs, seven RBI and one walk. One of his homers was a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the eighth that put UAH ahead 12-10 at the time.

Senior
Landon Ezzell continued his torrid pace to start the season with a 6-for-4 performance with three runs scored and one RBI.

Brennan Vasquez was also stellar in the high-scoring affair, as he plated a team-high four runs while going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two walks. Vazquez hit his first homer of the season in the top of the second that gave UAH an early 1-0 advantage.

Garrett Bodine collected one of the Chargers 15 base hits on the day to extend his hitting streak to 36 games.

Landon Singley started on the mound for the Chargers for the first time, tossing 3.2 innings with four runs allowed for a no-decision.

Will Hotalen picked up the win in relief, as he worked the final 4.1 innings with three strikeouts and two runs allowed. Hotalen pitched a total of 7.2 innings of relief for the weekend with a 2.35 ERA, six strikeouts and one walk.

UAH has now started a campaign with a series win in two of the last three seasons.

The Chargers look ahead to their home-opening series at Charger Park next weekend with a four-game set against Missouri St. Louis.
