UAH Falls in 12-11 Overtime Thriller Against Montevallo

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team fell in an overtime loss at Charger Park on Saturday afternoon against Peach Belt Conference opponent Montevallo. The Chargers dropped to 8-5 (1-2 PBC) in the 12-11 loss and the Falcons improved to 8-6 (1-2 PBC).

UAH jumped out to an early lead in the match as they scored four unanswered goals in the first quarter and ended the period with a 5-3 lead. In the second quarter, Montevallo made a big push and held a 8-7 lead headed into the half. 

The Falcons maintained their one goal lead after the third quarter and extended it to two goals before a valiant Charger comeback forced the game into overtime knotted at 11-11. 

Reid Vender led UAH in points for the game as he notched four goals. Four separate Chargers tallied assists in the game, as Hunter Coleman, Pete Fabrizio, Ian Arnt, and Bryce Ferraro each recorded one assist.

Nate Burt led the charge defensively with three caused turnovers and Brayden O'Neill collected the most ground balls, with six on the day.

The Chargers return to action next Saturday when they travel to Young Harris for their final regular season road contest.
