HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's soccer team opened the 2023 campaign at home with a victory, beating the visiting Trevecca Nazarene Trojans 2-1 on Thursday night. The Chargers start the season at 1-0-0 while TNU opens its season at 0-1-0.

The Chargers held the edge in shots on goal against the Trojans by a 6-5 margin, led by
Jose Bannwart with three shots on target. UAH would additionally generate seven corner kicks to TNU's six.

Overall, four different UAH players notched at least one shot on goal in the season-opener.
The Trojans took the lead in the 57th minute on Marlon Grossman's goal as the visitors would own a 1-0 advantage before a strike from
Justin Alcantara would level things at 1-1 just five minutes later.

Jose Bannwart would leave things late, heading home what would be the game-winner from a
Colby Nesbit corner to see UAH come away with a 2-1 victory.

Ethan Haworth played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Blue & White, notching four saves against Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday night.

UAH looks ahead to a Sunday road-trip to Americus, Ga. to take on Georgia Southwestern for a 12pm kickoff.
