HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team returns to the court this weekend as they host the UAH Invitational presented by Huntsville Sports Commission on Friday and Saturday.

The weekend's events follow a 1-3 record for the Chargers last week when they participated in the Ray Thrasher Classic at Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville.

Autumn Mayes led the Chargers with 41 kills over the four-game stretch, while Kiara Hill and Zoe Smith contributed 37 kills during the weekend. 

Gracie McGee led UAH with eight service aces last week, while freshman Mary Grace Bundrant highlighted the Chargers with 18 blocks. 

The UAH Invitational consists of five teams, including Anderson, No. 12 Barry, Montevallo, Trevecca Nazarene, and UAH. The Chargers will face off with Anderson on Friday at 4:45 p.m., before a Saturday slate of Barry at 12:15 p.m. and Trevecca Nazarene at 7 p.m.

Following this week, UAH opens Gulf South Conference play with a trip to Rome, Ga. to take on Shorter next Friday.
