Women's Basketball Hosts VSU Thursday and UWF Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team is back in Gulf South Conference play at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall twice over the next three days with visits from No. 14 Valdosta State on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. followed by West Florida on Saturday at 2 p.m.

General admission to all UAH women's basketball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Bentley Automotive. Reserved seating is additionally available for purchase online through HomeTown Ticketing.
 
UAH enters Thursday with a 6-7 overall record and a 5-5 mark in GSC play to rank eighth in the league standings, after falling to nationally-ranked Union on Monday on the road.
 
Sophomore Haelim Adle led the Chargers at Union with a team-high 14 points to go along with three rebounds and three steals against the Bulldogs.
 
Haley Nichols was the top performer in the conference in this past weekend's games, as she was named GSC Player of the Week after posting a career-high 33 points on Saturday at Christian Brothers. She became the 14th player in program history to score 33 points or more in a game.
 
Freshman Bella White has been UAH's leading rebounder so far this season, ranking sixth in the GSC with 6.9 rebounds per game. White has recorded seven or more rebounds in eight consecutive games, including a season-high 11 boards on Dec. 15 against Delta State.
 
Valdosta State enters Thursday's matchup with a 12-2 overall record and a 9-1 mark in GSC play, following an 87-51 win over Montevallo at home on Monday. VSU averages 72.2 points per game, led by Kalifa Ford at 15.7 points per contest.
 
West Florida starts out the weekend with an 8-5 overall record that includes a 5-4 GSC mark, after most recently falling at home to Montevallo Saturday by a score of 70-67. The Argonauts average 72.2 points per game, led by Brooke Kane at 14.9 points per contest.
 
UAH holds all-time series records of 15-42 against Valdosta State and 27-35 against West Florida.
 
After this week's home games, the Chargers look ahead to wrapping up the three-game homestand next Saturday at 2 p.m. against Auburn Montgomery for the UAH Hall of Fame game.
