Men's Soccer Welcomes GSC Pair to Charger Park Friday and Sunday

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's soccer team returns to Charger Park for two weekend Gulf South Conference matchups against Christian Brothers on Friday and Union on Sunday. Friday night's matchup is slated for 7:30 p.m., while Sunday's kick-off will be at 3:30 p.m.
 
Admission to all regular season home games at Charger Park is free again this season, courtesy of Alabama Credit Union. Both games this weekend will feature a pregame Blue Cup Tailgate open to the public.
 
UAH enters the weekend with a 1-4-3 overall record and a 0-3-1 mark in GSC play, after most recently dropping a 3-1 decision at Auburn Montgomery on Sunday.
 
Oli Orzechowski leads the UAH offense with three goals in the 2024 campaign, followed by Xavier Martin with five points from two goals and one assist. Martin scored the lone goal for the Chargers at Auburn Montgomery on Sunday.
 
The Chargers goalkeeping tandem of Ethan Haworth and Sonny Wright have combined for a 1.63 goals-against average and a .698 save percentage this season. Wright leads UAH with 16 saves over six matches, while Haworth has 14 saves over three games.
 
Christian Brothers begins the weekend with a 3-3-2 overall record. and the Bucs are coming off of a 7-1 win against Central Baptist on Tuesday. The Buccaneers offense is led by Harry Laing and Alexandar Blanche who each have three goals. CBU's defense averages 1.50 goals-against per game.
 
Union enters the Sunday afternoon matchup with a 5-3-1 overall, following a 6-1 win against Tougaloo College. The Bulldogs offense is guided by Ashanie Kennedy and Cillian Heaney both having five goals. Union's defense averages 3.02 goals against per game.
 
UAH holds an all-time series record of 17-18-7 against the Christian Brothers and 8-6-1 against Union.
 
After this weekend's matches, the Chargers will hit the road for a matchup with Delta State next Friday.
