Orzechowski's Two Goal Performance Guides Men's Soccer Past Mississippi College

CLINTON, Miss. | The UAH men's soccer team topped Mississippi College by a final score of 2-1 on Sunday afternoon on the road in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 2-7-3 (1-6-1 GSC), while MC slides to 6-4-1 (4-3-0 GSC).

Oli Orzechowski led the UAH offense to victory, as the sophomore scored both of the Chargers goals in the 13th minute and the 54th minute. He's now up to a team-best seven goals this season, as his marker in the 54th minute was his second game-winner in 2024.

Orzechowski also led the Chargers with four shots on goal across 90 minutes on the pitch on Sunday. Both sides had a bevy of opportunities with seven shots on goal apiece between the Chargers and Choctaws.

Kieran Rowe assisted on Orzechowski's game-winning goal, as he paces the UAH offense with three assists this season.

Sonny Wright earned the win in goal, after posting five saves against the Choctaws. He has now recorded five saves in back-to-back starts.

Wright was aided by 90-minute efforts from Brewer Wall, Harvey Hewson, Justin Alcantara, Henry Mpagi Jr., and Charlie Garrison, as the Chargers also played a man-down in the final 29 minutes to secure the victory.

UAH looks ahead to its last regular season road match of 2024 on Friday night at West Alabama.
