HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's cross country team earned fourth place as a team at the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country South Region Championships on Saturday morning at John Hunt Park.
 
The Chargers racing roster featured three All-South Region performers, led by freshman Lucy Barker in 14th with a team-best time of 22:18.91 in the 6-kilometer race.
 
She was joined in the top 25 by teammates Aylin Vega in 17th at 22:33.28 and Tamsyn Gibbs in 23rd at 22:48.02 to round out UAH's all-region honorees on Saturday.
 
UAH additionally featured four more top-50 performances on Saturday by Abby Weist (32nd, 23:02.5), Amelia Brady (34th, 23:09.4), Sophia Knox (42nd, 23:42.9) and Autumn Betts (50th, 24:00.2).
 
This was the Chargers highest-placing team at the South Regional since 2014.
