No. 13 Men's Basketball Rolls Against Delta State to Win 11th Straight

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 13 UAH men's basketball team won their 11th consecutive game in an 87-67 victory on Saturday evening against Delta State at Kelly Court in Spragins Hall. The Chargers improved to 11-1 (6-0 GSC) with the win, while the Statesmen dropped to 6-6 (2-4 GSC). 

UAH held the high-scoring Statesmen to their second-lowest first half scoring total of the season, allowing just 24 points in the half. Delta State was held scoreless till the 13:12 mark of the first half, scoring their first bucket after the Chargers built an 18-0 lead. 

The Chargers outrebounded Delta State 19-to-10 in the first half and 31-to-23 overall and totaled 12 assists in the first half and 19 for the game. The Blue & White were lights out from the field, scoring 80 percent of their shots in the first half and 69.9 percent for the game.

Blake Campbell led UAH in scoring as he put up 22 points on 8-for-10 from the field and 4-for-4 from behind the arc. Luke Burnett and Daniel Saylor each added 17 points apiece, while Tommy Murr scored 16 to round out the Chargers with double-digit scoring. 

UAH had six blocks in the game, with Auston Leslie leading the way with three, while Saylor added a pair and Murr had one rejection. Leslie tallied five rebounds, three assists, and a steal in 20 minutes of play. 

The Chargers scored 42 points in the paint to Delta State's 22 points in the paint. UAH also led 19-to-0 in fastbreak points in the victory. 

UAH returns to action after the holiday break when they travel to face off with Union on January 2.
