No. 14 Men's Basketball Set for First GSC Home Matchups on Saturday and Monday

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 14 UAH men's basketball team plays host to its first pair of Gulf South Conference home games on Saturday and Monday when they host Valdosta State on Saturday at 4 pm and West Florida on Monday at 7:30 pm.

General admission to all UAH men's basketball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Bentley Automotive. Reserved seating is additionally available for purchase online through HomeTown Ticketing.
 
The Chargers are rolling into the weekend having won six straight games, with their most recent victory being a 95-62 win over Blue Mountain. UAH has an average margin of victory of 18 points over their last six games. 

UAH is first in the GSC in field goal percentage as they have shot 51.1 percent from the field during their first seven games, while also holding the best opponent field goal percentage in the league as opposing teams have posted a 41.2 field goal percentage.
 
Tommy Murr is leading the Chargers in scoring this season with 23.0 points per game and also leads the GSC in the category. Luke Burnett paces UAH in three pointers made per game with 4.0 threes per game. Overall, the Chargers rank second in the league in rebounds as they have hauled in 40.3 rebounds per game. 

Blake Campbell has been a do-it-all guard in his first season with the Chargers as he is averaging 15.0 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, and 4.3 assists per game. The graduate transfer ranks in the top 20 in the conference for each category. 
 
Valdosta State travels to Huntsville for its second GSC matchup of the year with a 6-1 record having won their first league game 92-82 against West Alabama on Thursday. The Blazers lead the conference in scoring, averaging 96.7 points per game and are second in free throws attempted in the conference. 
 
West Florida will visit West Alabama with a 1-5 record on Saturday before heading to face the Chargers on Monday. The Argonauts rank in the top five in the GSC in steals and blocks as a team. 
 
UAH holds all-time series records of 31-33 against VSU and 43-17 against UWF.
 
After Monday's matchup, the Chargers will head on the road to face off with Lee next weekend.
