HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's basketball team picked up a 74-51 victory over visiting Shorter on Thursday night at Spragins Hall in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 14-6 (12-4 GSC), while SU slides to 3-17 (1-15 GSC).

Junior
Luke Burnett led the way for the Chargers in the rout of the Hawks with a team-high 25 points, as he went 9-for-19 from the field including a 7-for-14 performance on three-pointers. The Knoxville, Tennessee, native also added two assists and two steals across 26 minutes on the floor.

Burnett has posted 25 or more points in two of the last three games to raise his season scoring average to 16.9 points per game this season.

Fellow junior
Daniel Saylor had a stellar all-around performance on Thursday night with a team-high 11 rebounds, five assists and four blocks to go along with seven points.

Tommy Murr joined Burnett in double-figure scoring with 13 points in a 4-of-7 performance from the floor, as he also notched five rebounds in his team-high 28 minutes of action.

A total of six Chargers had two or more assists, with the Blue & White totaling 23 assists on the night out of 28 made baskets.

UAH shot 43.8 percent (28-64) from the field and 37.5 percent (15-40) on three-pointers, while limiting Shorter to 39.6 percent (19-48) on field goals. The Chargers also held the edge over the Hawks in rebounds (39-30), bench points (21-9), points off turnovers (22-10), and points in the paint (26-20)
