HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball returned home to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall with a 74-55 victory over visiting Shorter on Thursday afternoon in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 8-11 (7-9 GSC), while SU slides to 1-19 (0-16 GSC).

The Chargers offense was guided by
Bellah Machen and
Haley Nichols with 15 points apiece in the contest, as the duo combined to go 13-for-20 from the field on Thursday.

Machen additionally pulled down six rebounds and snatched two steals, while Nichols added five rebounds and three assists.

Bella White led the way on the boards for the Blue & White with seven rebounds, followed by Machen's six.

UAH totaled seven players with six points or more on Friday with four of those players registering three rebounds or more in a strong team performance.

Overall on Thursday, UAH shot 57.1 percent (32-56) from the field while limiting Shorter to 39.2 percent (20-51) on field goals. The Chargers also held the edge over the Hawks in rebounds (32-25), bench points (39-11), fast break points (8-4), points off turnovers (22-12), and points in the paint (58-18).
