HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's lacrosse team notched its first-ever ranked victory over No. 24 Saint Leo in a 14-13 win on Friday afternoon at Charger Park in nonconference action. UAH improves to 3-1, while SLU slides to 0-1.

After trailing Saint Leo 6-4 at the half, UAH pulled ahead in the third quarter by outpacing the Lions 7-2 on the way to winning 14-13 on Friday.

A total of four Chargers had two or more goals in the victory, led by
Isadora Springer with a team-high five goals to go along with two caused turnovers and five ground balls.

Both
Sarah Cole and
Kourtney Bauroth had three goals to tie for second on the UAH offense, with
Shannon Finch adding two markers to round out UAH's multi-goal scorers.

Bauroth had a strong all-around performance as well with a team-high six ground balls to go with three caused turnovers.

Talitha Goodman had a strong game defensively with a team-high five caused turnovers.

Tori Ryan earned the win for the Chargers in goal, posting nine saves with a team-high seven ground balls.

UAH additionally held the edge over Saint Leo in shots on goal (28-22), ground balls (33-24), and caused turnovers (19-6).

The Chargers are back in action at Charger Park on Sunday with an 11 a.m. matchup against nationally-ranked Florida Southern.
