BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville's
Talitha Goodman has been selected as the GSC Defensive Player of the Week while
Kourtney Bauroth has been named the GSC Freshman Player of the Week.

This is the first career GSC weekly nod for both Goodman and Bauroth.

Goodman received honors after a strong defensive performance on Friday night against No. 24 Saint Leo where she forced five turnovers from the Lions in the Chargers 14-13 victory and the program's first-ever win against a ranked opponent. The Crestwood, Kentucky native also notched a ground ball and a forced turnover in Sunday's matchup with No. 2 Florida Southern.

Bauroth elevated to nine goals for the season with a three-goal outing against No. 24 Saint Leo before adding another tally against No. 2 Florida Southern on Sunday. The freshman from Simi Valley, California, also recorded nine ground balls across the two contests and forced three turnovers from Saint Leo in the Chargers 14-13 Friday night victory.

UAH is back in action on Saturday, March 2
nd with a trip to Crestview, Kentucky to take on Ashland. The game is set to begin at 12 p.m.
