CLEVELAND, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team dropped a 60-49 decision in a road matchup at Delta State on Thursday evening. UAH moves to 8-13 (7-11 GSC), while DSU improves to 11-11 (9-9 GSC).

Elyse Hughes scored a career high 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field to lead the UAH offense on the night. The sophomore forward added two assists, one steal and grabbed two rebounds in the game.Â

Bellah Machen joined Hughes in double figures scoring with a 10-point performance and she also added an assist and two rebounds in the contest.

Haelim Adle was tops on the glass for the Chargers with 12 boards in the affair, one shy of her career-best mark of 13 that she set last season against Columbus State.

UAH will continue the weekend road trip with a visit to Mississippi College on Saturday afternoon to take on the Choctaws. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
