ALBERTVILLE, Ala. | The No. 12 UAH softball team wrapped up day two of the 2024 Charger Chillout, presented by Marshall County Tourism & Sports, on Friday afternoon at Sand Mountain Park with a win over Georgia Southwestern by a score of 10-2 and a loss to Trevecca Nazarene by a score of 4-2. UAH's overall record now stands at 6-3.

UAH and Kentucky Wesleyan are slated to play tomorrow at Sand Mountain Park at 10 a.m. to wrap up the weekend.

UAH 10, GSW 2 (5 innings)
The Chargers stormed out of the gate with a seven-run first inning that propelled the Blue & White to the 12-2 victory over the Hurricanes in game one on Friday.

Lawren Hayes was stellar out of the leadoff spot, going 3-for-4 with a team-high two runs and three RBI. Hayes led off the game with a triple and later connected on a double for two extra-base hits in the win.

Maddie Cartron and
Sadie Thompson notched one base hit and two RBI in the contest to help guide the Chargers offense. Thompson delivered the game-winning hit with a two-RBI double in the bottom of the fifth.

Katie Bracken improved to 5-0 on the season in the circle, after working 5.0 innings with two runs allowed and 10 strikeouts. Bracken had not allowed an earned run for 30.2 innings to start the season until the second inning against GSW.

TNU 4, UAH 2
Trevecca Nazarene pulled ahead in the top of the second with a three-run rally, as the Trojans held on to win it 4-2 on Friday in game two of the day for UAH.

Alexa Douthitt drove in both of UAH's runs of the game in the bottom of the second with a two-run homer to left for her first round-tripper of the season.

Jada Henderson posted a team-high two base hits in the contest, going 2-for-3 against TNU.

Grace O'Berry provided 4.0 innings of stellar relief with one hit allowed and five strikeouts.

Josie Thompson took the loss in her start in the circle, as she worked 3.0 innings with four runs allowed and three strikeouts.
