VALDOSTA, Ga. | The UAH softball team capped off a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Valdosta State with a doubleheader split after winning the first 8-3 before dropping the rubber match 9-3 on Saturday afternoon. UAH's record now stands at 18-9 (6-6 GSC), while VSU moves to 19-12 (11-4 GSC).

UAH 8, VSU 3
Grace O'Berry guided the Chargers to victory in the circle with a complete-game performance that features six strikeouts and three runs allowed over her 7.0 innings. O'Berry earned the win to improve to 5-1 in the circle this season.

UAH jumped in front in the top of the first with a two-run home run by
Maddie Cartron, followed by two more runs in the third with RBI base hits by
Kaylee Vaught and
Jada Henderson that provided enough offense for the 8-3 win in game one on Saturday.

Cartron finished the game with a team-high three RBI to go along with two runs scored, as she notched her sixth home run of the season.

Lawren Hayes collected a roster-leading three hits and three runs across four at bats, with Vaught also recording a multi-hit game with a 2-for-4 performance with one RBI.

VSU 9, UAH 3
After UAH tied the contest 3-3 with a two-run top of the fourth, Valdosta State regained the lead in the bottom half on a three-run rally on the way to its 9-3 win in the series finale.

Cartron ended the day with four RBI in the doubleheader, as she added one RBI while going 1-for-3 in the finale.

Jessica Edde led the Chargers offense in the contest, posting a team-high two hits with one double and one run scored.

Josie Thompson started in the circle for UAH, and she turned in 3.0 innings with five runs allowed and two strikeouts to fall to 4-5 this season.
