DAHLONEGA, Ga. | The UAH softball team split a road doubleheader at No. 2 North Georgia on Wednesday afternoon after winning game one 2-1 before falling in the finale 7-6. UAH moves to 30-12, while UNG's record now stands at 39-6.

The Chargers return to Gulf South Conference play on Friday and Saturday at Charger Park against visiting Shorter.

UAH broke the scoreless tie against North Georgia with two runs in the top of the sixth as a Jessica Edde single led to both Kaylee Vaught and Alexa Douthitt scoring on the play.

Lawren Hayes, Jada Henderson, and Vaught each went 1-for-2 on the day with one walk to lead the offense. Henderson and Vaught's base hits both went for a double.

This was UAH's first win over North Georgia since the 2021 season, with the Chargers now defeating ranked opponents three times this season.

UNG 7, UAH 6
The Chargers led for the majority of the contest and extended the lead to 6-2 with a two-RBI double by Douthitt in the sixth. However, the Nighthawks chipped into their deficit with one run in the bottom of the sixth, followed by four runs in the seventh to come from behind in the 7-6 win.
