ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team charged ahead to victory in the Gulf South Conference Championship semifinal game, defeating three-seeded Lander 12-8 to advance to the title game on Sunday morning. The Chargers move on in the postseason, improving to 12-6 on the season, while LU finishes the year at 8-8.

The sophomore duo of
Maya Bronson and
Sarah Cole led the way for the UAH offense as each of the midfielders recorded four points with three goals and one assist in the contest.

Isadora Springer,
Shannon Finch, and
Kourtney Bauroth all registered three points on the afternoon as Bauroth netted two goals while Finch and Springer both handed out a pair of assists to go along with one goal each.

Tori Ryan recorded six saves, playing the entire 60 minutes in between the pipes for the Blue & White, while
Talitha Goodman and GSC Defensive Player of the Year
Riley Kirby combined to cause seven Bearcat turnovers for the UAH defense.

The Chargers outshot Lander 20-19 throughout the contest and narrowly won the battle in the ground ball department by a 16-14 margin.

UAH will now look ahead to Sunday when the team takes on Flagler in the GSC Women's Lacrosse Championship title game which is set for an 11 a.m. start.
