CARROLLTON, Ga. | The UAH softball team opened a three-game Gulf South Conference series at West Georgia with an 8-5 victory on Friday afternoon. UAH improves to 27-11 (13-6 GSC), while UWG slides to 16-23 (7-12 GSC).

UAH has now won seven consecutive GSC games.

The Chargers offense was guided by two home runs by
Kaylee Vaught – the first of multi-homer game of her career – as she finished the contest 2-for-2 with a team-high four runs, three RBI and two walks. The Langston, Alabama, native now has seven homers this season.

Katie Bracken hurled her 15th complete game of the season against the Wolves on Friday, amassing 15 strikeouts over 7.0 innings with four earned runs allowed. Bracken's 15 strikeouts tie for the second-most in program history, as she improves to 13-3 in 2024.

Jada Henderson notched a go-ahead two-RBI double in the fifth inning, going 2-for-3 overall in the game with one run and one walk to go along with her two RBI.

Maddie Cartron provided Bracken with three insurance runs in the top of the seventh with a three-run homer in her lone at-bat of the game, which was her seventh round-tripper of the year.

UAH and West Georgia look ahead to a doubleheader to wrap up the three-game set on Saturday with the first game slated to begin at 11 a.m. CT.
