CARROLLTON, Ga. | The UAH softball team swept its third consecutive Gulf South Conference series after taking both games of a doubleheader at West Georgia by scores of 8-0 and 13-2 on Saturday afternoon. UAH improves to 29-11 (15-6 GSC), while UWG slides to 16-25 (7-14 GSC).

The Chargers out of GSC play for their next action with a trip to North Georgia for a doubleheader Wednesday at 12 p.m. CT.

UAH 8, UWG 0
After being backed by a four-run top of the first, UAH senior
Josie Thompson hurled 6.0 shutout innings as the Chargers took game two of the series by a final score of 8-0 in six innings on Saturday.

Thompson allowed only six hits while issuing zero walks and three strikeouts. She improves to 9-5 with the win.

Jessica Edde led the Chargers offense in the victory going 2-for-3 with a triple and a team-high two RBI against the Wolves. Her triple in the third inning was the first of her career at UAH.

Kaylee Vaught reached base three times in the first game of the doubleheader with one hit and a roster-best two walks to go with one run RBI and one run.
Alexa Douthitt,
Jada Henderson and
Maddie Cartron each had one run, one hit and one RBI in the win.

UAH 13, UWG 2
The Chargers rallied for three or more runs in three out of the five innings in game two on Saturday as UAH's offense powered to the 13-2, sweep-sealing win.

Vaught gave UAH a healthy 6-0 lead as she highlighted the six-run top of the second, which was her eighth homer of the season. She finished the game with a team-high four RBI and two walks.

Henderson rated second on the UAH offense with three RBI, going 3-for-4 overall in the victory. One of her three hits went for a double.

Douthitt joined Henderson with three base hits on the day to go along with two runs, while
Sadie Thompson and Maddie Catron both contributed two hits to give UAH four players with multi-hit performances.

Grace O'Berry earned the win in the circle to improve to 6-2 this season, after working 5.0 innings with one earned run allowed, zero walks and six strikeouts.
