HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's soccer team was recognized with the program's first-ever Gulf South Conference Fair Play Award for the 2024 campaign.
Â
The Chargers were honored after being booked a league-low eight times with seven yellow cards and one red card. UAH also tallied the fewest fouls, 108, in 16 total matches. Union and Montevallo were also considered.
Â
The GSC Soccer Fair Play Award is presented annually to the team that best portrays sportsmanship over the course of a full season. The three conference teams to have accumulated the fewest total cards—yellow and red combined—were nominated for the award. GSC coaches vote their respective top choice from the three-team pool but could not vote for their own team. The team that received the most votes earned the award.
Â
UAH finished the season with a 5-8-3 overall record and 4-5-3 in GSC play, as the team boasted
Jayla Gillespie as a Second Team All-GSC performer.
