PENSACOLA, Fla. | The UAH women's soccer team closed out its 2025 season on Saturday with a 2-0 setback at undefeated West Florida in the Gulf South Conference quarterfinals. The Chargers finish the year at 6-9-2 overall and 4-7-1 in GSC play, while the top-seeded Argonauts improve to 16-0-2 (11-0-1 GSC).
After a scoreless first half, West Florida broke through in the 70th minute when Hunter Wallace scored off an assist from Rece Grant, and Alexis Castle added an insurance goal in the 80th minute to secure the win.
UAH goalkeepers CeCe Szopa and Kacey Powell combined for 11 saves, with Szopa making nine stops in 78 minutes of action. Offensively, Sabrina Da Silva led the Chargers with two shots on goal, while UAH totaled eight shots and eight corner kicks in the contest.
UAH concludes the 2025 season with a 6-9-2 overall record and a 4-7-1 mark in Gulf South Conference play.
