No. 6 Men's Basketball Flies Past Falcons for 14th Straight Win

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 6 UAH men's basketball team won their 14th consecutive game in a 96-78 victory on Thursday evening against Gulf South Conference opponent Montevallo at Kelly Court in Spragins Hall. The Chargers improved to 14-1 (9-0 GSC) with the win, while the Falcons dropped to 10-4 (6-2 GSC). 

Due to the incoming winter storm, UAH has postponed Saturday's matchup against Auburn Montgomery to Sunday at 4 p.m. More information on the postponement to Sunday

UAH shot a blazing 51.7 percent on 15-for-29 from the three point line against the Falcons for their third-highest three point percentage of the season. Luke Burnett made 9-of-13 three point attempts as the senior poured in a team-high 29 points for the night. 

Burnett reached 400 career three pointers with Thursday night's performance. He is four made threes away from tying the career GSC record. 

Tommy Murr added 25 points and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line in addition to nine assists. Daniel Saylor tallied his sixth double-double of the season as a force down low as he scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds with eight dunks. 

The Chargers outpaced the Falcons from the field 58.3 percent to 44.1 percent. UAH also narrowly led in points in the paint 40 to 34. The Blue & White also shot 84.6 percent from the free throw line as opposed to Montevallo's 58.3 percent mark at the line. 

UAH will face off with another conference foe, AUM, on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.
