HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | UAH men's soccer rebounded from Friday's loss with a 1-0 victory over Delta State on Sunday afternoon at Charger Park.

UAH controlled the match early, and in the 21st minute, Stellios Starakis fired a shot through traffic to score the first — and only — goal of the contest.

Goalkeeper Sonny Wright earned his third shutout of the season, though it didn't come easily. Delta State managed just one shot on goal in the first half and two more in the second, but Wright finished the day with six saves. Delta State briefly appeared to score in the second half, but the goal was waved off for offsides. From that point on, Wright and the UAH back line shut the Statesmen down to secure the 1-0 win.

The Chargers will return to Charger Park for Senior Night on Friday, Oct. 24, against West Alabama. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and fans are encouraged to arrive early to celebrate the careers of UAH's seven seniors.
