Volleyball Welcomes No. 16 West Florida and Valdosta State on Friday and Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team hosts No. 16 West Florida on Friday at 6 p.m. at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall and Valdosta State on Saturday at 2 p.m. in a pair of Gulf South Conference matches this weekend. The Chargers are winners of their last eight matches and currently hold a 9-1 record at home. 

The Chargers enter the weekend at 18-4 (10-3 GSC), while West Florida is 20-3 (13-0 GSC) and Valdosta State is 10-13 (9-5 GSC).

Attendance to this weekend's matches – and all regular season volleyball matches at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall – is free courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Blue & White hold a 8-37 record all-time against West Florida and a 31-24 record all-time against Valdosta State.

The Chargers rank first in the GSC in opponent hitting percentage against at .140 and rank second in the conference with 2.36 blocks per set. Alex McGeehan and Mary Grace Bundrant rank fourth and fifth in the category at 1.08 and 1.06 blocks per set averages. 

Caroline Moyer and Zoe Smith lead the Charger offense as Moyer has posted 278 kills on the season and Smith has tallied 252 kills. 

Following the weekend's matches, the Chargers will host West Alabama on Senior Night at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall at 6 p.m.
