TAMPA | The UAH volleyball team dropped a five-set match (17-25 | 26-24 | 25-21 | 23-25 | 3-15) against the defending national champion Lynn in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Region Championship on Thursday on the campus of Tampa.
Thursday's matchup ended the 2025 campaign for the Chargers who went 24-8 on the year, the Fighting Knights improved to 22-9 with the win.
The Chargers fell in the first set 25-17 before rallying back to win the next two sets 26-24 and 25-21. A nail biter of a fourth set went the way of the Fighting Knights at 25-23, forcing the decisive fifth set.
The UAH offense was a balanced attack as six players notched six or more kills in the match, as All-South Region outside hitter
Caroline Moyer led the squad with nine kills.
Carlee Lowry,
Cooper Garrett, and
Zoe Smith each tallied seven kills.
Anna Clare Hutto had 15 assists to lead the way for the Blue & White, while Garrett totaled 14 assists.
Sydney Durban had 21 digs in the match as the GSC Freshman of the Year led the category among both teams.
Kayla Ward posted seven total blocks in the match, while
Mary Grace Bundrant added three.
