VALDOSTA, Ga. | The No. 8 UAH men's basketball team wrapped up a two-game Gulf South Conference road trip as they took on Valdosta State on Saturday evening as they dropped the game 93-91 on the campus of Valdosta State.
The Chargers are now 6-2 (1-1 GSC) on the year, while the Blazers are 5-2 (1-1 GSC). The loss is the first regular season GSC defeat the Chargers have suffered since February 17, 2024.Â
The game was neck-and-neck throughout as UAH held a 54-51 lead into the half as they were 9-for-17 from three in the half. In the second half, the Chargers went cold from behind the arc as they went 4-for-15. Â
UAH had six players score in double-digits, with
Rayven Turner leading the way with 15.
Jordan Mabe had 13, while
Matt Thurman and
Griffin Cooper each had 12 points.
Preston Parker and
Graham Martin rounded out double-figure scorers with 11 each.
Turner additionally led the team in rebounds just shy of a double-double mark at nine boards. Cooper had a four block performance to lead the Charger defense.
Up next for UAH is a pair of home games before the holiday break as they will host Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Lee on Saturday, December 13 at 4 p.m.
