No. 4 Men's Basketball Welcomes Christian Brothers and Union for Final Regular Season Home Games

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 4 UAH men's basketball team is hosting a pair of Gulf South Conference opponents for their final regular season home contests as they welcome in Christian Brothers on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. and Union on Saturday at 4 p.m.
 
Thursday's game additionally features the introduction of UAH's Homecoming Court as part of Homecoming Week on campus, while the department will celebrate 4.0 Night as well on Thursday. All 128 UAH student-athletes that achieved a 4.0 GPA during the 2024 calendar year will be honored during the men's halftime.

Saturday's game is highlighted Senior Day as the program will honor its 2024-25 senior class prior to the game, which includes seniors Auston Leslie, Luke Burnett, Nylan Thomas, Tommy Murr, Dane Harding, Daniel Saylor, and Blake Campbell.
 
The UAH Alumni Association is hosting the Sideline on Spragins Tailgate beginning at 12 p.m., which will be on the first floor of the UAH parking deck.

General admission to all UAH men's basketball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Bentley Automotive. Reserved seating is additionally available for purchase online through HomeTown Ticketing.

The Chargers return to action after extending their winning streak to 22 games over the weekend with wins on the road at Delta State on Thursday and Mississippi College on Saturday. 
 
Mick Hedgepeth's squad enters the weekend with the second-best effective field goal percentage in all of NCAA Division II at 60.3 percent, while also boasting the second-highest defensive rebounds per game total at 30.48 per game. 
 
Daniel Saylor holds the second-highest field goal percentage in D-II with a 71.66 shooting percentage and ranks eighth in blocks per game as he has denied 2.52 shots per game. 

Blake Campbell ranks third in the GSC in field goal percentage shooting 58.5 percent from the field, while Luke Burnett leads the league in three point field goals made per game with 3.7.

Christian Brothers visits Spragins Hall with the highest offensive rebounding rate in the GSC as they haul in 14.0 offensive boards per game. The Chargers defeated the Bucs earlier this season on the road 89-72 and hold a 36-9 record all-time against CBU. 

Union comes to Huntsville on Saturday with the best opponent three point percentage in the league, holding opponents to just 29.0 percent behind the arc. The Chargers won their last matchup against the Bulldogs 82-81 as Campbell secured the victory with a three pointer in the final moments. 

The Chargers are 22-5 all-time against Union and have won two in a row against the Bulldogs. 

Following this week's games, UAH will head on the road to face off with Auburn Montgomery next Thursday and Montevallo on Saturday.
