TAMPA, Fla. | The UAH softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader at No. 10 Tampa by scores of 4-3 and 2-1 on Thursday afternoon in nonconference action. UAH slides to 3-4, while UT improves to 4-0.

UAH returns to action with a doubleheader at Saint Leo on Friday at 5 p.m. CT.

Game one: UT 4, UAH 3
The Chargers tied the game late at 3-3 with a two-run top of the fifth, as
Jada Henderson delivered a two-RBI single to left.
Â
However, Tampa drew in the go-ahead run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth, which carried the Spartans to the 4-3 win in game one.

Henderson finished the game 1-for-4 with a team-high two RBI, while
Maddie Cartron had the lone multi-hit performance with two doubles in the matchup.

Katie Bracken tossed the full 6.0 innings for the Chargers, posting eight strikeouts with four runs allowed. Her record slides to 1-1 with the loss.

Game two: UT 2, UAH 1 (8 innings)
UAH went to extra innings for the first time in the 2025 season, as Tampa took the second game in the bottom of the eighth by a score of 2-1.

The Chargers lone run of the contest came on a sacrifice fly by
Sydney Harris in the fourth inning that tied the game at 1-1.

Cartron led the UAH offense with three base hits in the night cap, raising her season average to a roster-leading .500.

Megan Shurtz started for the Chargers, turning in 7.2 innings with two unearned runs allowed and four strikeouts. This is the third time in her career Shurtz has worked 7.0 innings or more.
